Sketchbook Sketches (to distract you from the lack of evidence of finished pieces...)

WHHHOOAAA...January's almost over, this year is going a tad fast, I do declare.
It is a typically gloomy, miserable winter where I am, but you know what, I've come to love it. That was, infact, a complete lie.
But to distract me from those winter blues, I have been hard at work, but I still worry that I can't really show much stuff at the moment (I'm never sure of the legality of things like showing development work before the book is released, or whether I should keep the work secret for a bit longer...to maximise the tantilising-ness of the book...although who I'm tantilising other than myself, I do not know.), so in another stealthy move to keep this blog regular other than its favourite bran flakes, I'm going to upload things from my sketch book to give you wonderful people who do look at my blog something to look at.
HUUUZZAAAH!

New Year!

Oh, damn, I think I'm rather late...HAPPY NEW YEAR!

There it is, and may it be a wonderful year indeed. I feel like I've been drowning in a whole load of Christmassy and New Year-y jovality, but have finally re-surfaced and really need to crack on with the illustration. THE TIME HAS COME.

Unfortunately I have mostly been inking since returning from the festive weeks, and doing a bit of concept doodles for my up-coming children's books, so I haven't got much to show! Rubbish start to the year. eh? But if it's any consolation, I have a callus forming on my drawing finger from drawing so much recently, and I also have some photos (taken by Soupa extordinaire Jo Spencer) from the recent SoupaMarket I took part in with the wonderful Soupa Network, which was a huge success!

The photos show a few of my products, my mini comics which seemed to go down a storm (stop it, you're making me blush) and some of my prints. There is also a photo of the stall itself, and Soupa members Jo, Carina and myself. The whole stall looked awesome, crammed full of top quality stuff, it was a real pleasure to be a part of it! And on that note, I shall try my hardest to get something concrete onto this blog asap!

CHRISTMAS IS COMING (SOUPA MARKET, YOU SAY?!!) !!!

I've been a bit lacking with the posts recently, for which I can only apologise, but in my defence, I have been really busy with various things, and, of course, the little holiday which is heading our way.
Basically, the little stick man is for my friend Fran. I can't remember if this is exactly how he looks, but this is the vision which haunts my nightmares.
And the second illustration is of Father Christmas. He's stocked up on the brandy, cuz he knows this is going to be a long one...
Oh, and the Soupa Market opens tomorrow, which is why I have been away from my computer and busy trimming, packing and labelling all manner of handily crafted things, all ready for last minute crimbo gifts. Or something like that...

Christmas is coming...

ARGH! Apparently it's Christmas already?! When did this happen? Although the shops of my lovely town have been playing Christmas music since the beginning of November, so I shouldn've seen it coming. But as it's December, I reckon it's legally time for all things Christmassy.
And as such, here is one of the greetings cards I'll have for sale at the Soupa Market (http://soupa.wordpress.com/) this month (one of 3...ooooooo), and another flyer for the wonderful folks at White Rabbit Promotions! That gig is on at The Horn in St.Albans on the 18th of December and features the JBM...my very own band. Busy month indeed! Noel, comrades, noel.

Soupa Market.

Along with the other wonderful folks at the Soupa Network (www.soupa.co.uk), we shall have a 'Soupa Market' stall at the Brick Lane Christmas Market this year, as of the 18th of December!

A lot of the artists and creatives from Soupa will be selling handmade products such as greetings cards, tee shirts, screen prints, prints, original artwork and all manners of various gifts and cool things that no self-respecting human should go without. If you can, please come down, at least to say hello!
Here is the special location of the market, and by special, I mean really badass.

F Block 1st Floor.
Entrances from Ely’s Yard, Brick Lane and Hanbury Street.

As well as greetings cards and prints, I shall also be doing some mini-comics. I'll post more about them closer to the time, but here is a sneak preview of one of my mini-stories. Yup, It had to happen, it was more of a question of when. I present to you; STEREOTYPICAL ENGLISH HAMSTER.
